Juggling….
LOL, okay...so I'm *trying* to teach myself how to juggle. Oy, I think I may POSSIBLY be the least coordinated person in the history of man. LOL
We bought a juggling set when we went to the Tahoe Shakes. We had a GREAT time! (Even though we were camping. LOL) We saw The Comedy of Errors set in a "Western" theme. It was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! Ooh. I should see if I can find the camera with those pictures in it! I'll post those later.
ANYWAY, back to juggling. So the "warm-up" show was a juggling duo. They were good, but meh, how hard is juggling. (Famous. Last. Words) So they come around hawking their wares & Doug buys these juggle balls and tells me that if it "isn't that hard" then why don't I learn? (CRAP. Put up or shut up.) LOL, I tell him, "Fine. No problem."
We get back to our CAMPSITE. (yeah, did I mention we were camping?) And I pull out the balls. Attempt to juggle. GAWD I SUCK. LOL I tell him that it is because it's dark out here and I'm tired...etc. (EXCUSES) Then, I promptly hide the juggling balls in the FUUUUUURTHEST corner of the car trunk.
Well, last weekend, these juggling balls are "re-found". DAMMIT. Of COURSE I cannot practice when he is around as he will laugh, point, and generally make fun of me. RAWR! So my "training" has consisted of a few hours on Saturday when he was in Redwood City for Sea Scouts and about 20 minutes tonight while he is gone to the scout meeting.
Dammit. I hate it when he calls me on my bluffs.
Well…
as you can see, Callista Wolf has been busy working on my pretty template. :D It's so pretty! *swoons*
I have also added some content to the sidebar. Most notably are the photos. Naturally, I have not yet begun to add all the photos and albums. That is going to be a GIANT undertaking. I think I will make an effort to put at least 20 on every day that I am at the computer that has the photos stored.
Enjoy and feel free to drop me a line at mrsjllove at gmail dot com.
Sorry!!!
I have been remiss in updating! Was lazy this weekend....was busy with "life" the rest of the time. :(
Will write more later...at work now. :( :( :( :(
Hello my lufflies!
Anywhoo, it's been a pretty blah day with work and what-not. I really wish my co-workers would get their stuff together! Would make my life and job a lot more pleasing. :D
I thought I'd share a couple of goals that I want to accomplish some in the V. V. near future, some further out, but no later than Christmas-time. I don't want our Christmas party guests to come into our hovel. "Enjoy!"
♥Tear down bookshelves in the room that will become "the office"
♥Find a L-shaped or U-shaped desk for the office so that we have plenty of space to
S P R E A D O U T.
♥Put the closet organizer into the closet so that I can store all my craft, scrapbooking, sewing supplies as well as office supplies.
♥Put closet doors BACK on the closet.
(Yes, this is a problem in that room.)
♥Paint the bookshelf wall a contrast color since it didn't get painted when the rest of the room did due to the bookshelves being bolted...BOLTED... into the wall.
♥Move computer and office equipment into that room.
♥Add accessories, new window blind, new window dressing.
♥Buy bookshelves for the new "library"
♥Convince Doug that he does NOT need that many books on history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
♥Place newly pared down books onto luffly bookshelves in library.
♥Purchase a sleeper sofa or futon for the library for seating and additional bed if necessary.
♥Add accessories, new window dressing and hang THAT closet door back. (See a trend?)
♥Paint new guest room
♥Move in bed and appropriate bedroom furniture for the guests.
♥Put closet doors back on.....(Yes, AGAIN...you see, I have a problem.)
I'm sure this isn't ALLLL. As I also do want to purchase a new family room sofa since I HATE, HATE, HATE...*STABS IT*...the sofa we bought last year!! Stupid thing...I am NEVER purchasing another sofa from La-z-boy. EVER. AS LONG AS I LIVE, NEVER. Stupid cushions on the back are all squooshed down, the fabric looks horrible no matter WHAT I do to it. Microfiber is easy to clean my A$$!
*takes a deep calming breath*
So yeah, this is by no means an exhaustive list, it's just a beginning....and since I like lists and all.....welllllll, you get the picture.
Feeling Bad… FeelingGood… Feeling Worse.
My husband and I have a friend who lives in New Orleans. We have known our friend since before we were married. We'll just call her...Sandy. We met "Sandy" on the Jimmy Buffett webboard. "Sandy" is very sad about losing her beloved city and rightfully so. We feel bad for her. We knew that we had to do SOMETHING besides donating money to a large charitable organization that may or may not go to programs in which we agree with the distribution. ANYWAY.
"Sandy" is a public school teacher in her area. She has been told that she can go back to work in October. Doug has suggested that we send "Sandy" some school supplies for her children who were poor to begin with but are now without anything. So we asked "Sandy" if this would be appropriate. "Aye, it would." So off we went to the store to supply at least one class with all the basic supplies.
At first, we went to Wal*Mart. However, 5 minutes in that store and I knew that I could not stay in there long and stay a) sane or b) out of jail for killing the folks standing in the aisles drooling on themselves looking at items as though they were foreign objects that no man has ever seen before. My GOD. How do folks shop in there? Is it like that everywhere or only here in California? I don't remember it being that bad when I lived in Kentucky. Is it possible that people who shop at Wal*Mart in Kentucky are smarter than those in California? I simply don't know. Although, I am quite sure that there should be some sort of IQ test for folks to be allowed out in public without a chaperone who is IQ qualified. So we left our cart in Wal*Mart and headed out. Not before being run down with no less than 3 buggies and 8 kids running around like wildcats with no parental supervision.
Off to Office Max we go! Pull up to the store..."OH look! Lots of up-front parking!" YAY! Park the car and head in with our buggy. We're ON A MISSION! Find notebooks for 49¢...get 2 cases, that's 48 notebooks! YAY! We find staplers, paperclips, pencils, elastics, scissors, stickers, pens, and a whole buncha other stuff on sale. No crowds. No kids darting here and there like heathens! YAY! We're feeling great about all of our purchases. I even purchased a computer book for myself. Lovely shopping trip. Got a gob of stuff for $150. Shove the items in the trunk and we're off to home to wallow in our array of school supplies. We are feeling good!
As we are driving home and nearly to the exit that we take, I look up on the hill at a house. They have their flag at half. I comment to DH that I wonder why they have it. He said, "Rehnquist? Katrina's deaths? War in Iraq? September 11th?" BINGO. Duh. I. completely. forgot. it. was. Sept. 11th. I cannot believe that I forgot. No, I'm not saying I have forgotten about the event completely, I forgot it was TODAY (also my nephew's birthday.) I'm feeling worse now. :( *sigh* I had a couple of friends directly affected by that cowardly attack on my beloved United States. One of them works for the NYSE. He has volunteered to go to New Orleans to help clean up and clean out. What a brave, giving soul that he has.
