Ahhh..
it is such a lovely night here. I can hear the trees rustle when the wind blows. I can feel a cool breeze sneaking in my open window. The cats are watching their Mewvie. The dogs are napping on the office floor. Doug is at his Native Sons of the Golden West meeting doing his secret handshake wearing his furry vest and speaking pig latin (or WHATEVER they do there.)
*le sigh* These nights make me love my native state of California. Do not get me wrong, there is nothing more in the world that I want than to move back to the Bluegrass state. Yes, I am one of the rare breeds living in California known as a Californius Nativus. I was born in Long Beach, waaaay down there in SoCal. While they might have better weather, we do have some nice things here in the Bay area. But nothing compares to those gentle, rolling hills of Kentucky!
In Kentucky, they have thunder! In Kentucky, they have fireflies. In Kentucky, you can see so many more stars when you look up in the sky at night. It's also just a slower-paced lifestyle there. One that I happen to love and that I hope to experience again. They value family and friends there more. Here in California, most everyone stays to themselves. Do you know that I have never met my neighbors? I have lived here in this house for over 4 years and I have no idea what my neighbors even sound like when they speak? It isn't that we are anti-social. We very much like to entertain. But this isn't "the neighborhood" for that. I dunno. Maybe it's 'cause we haven't got children. I really don't know what it is. It seems as though everyone has their own life and to hell with the other guy! *le sigh*
In Kentucky, it isn't like that. It isn't anything like that.
